Egypt’s agriculture sector contributes EGP 1.9 trillion to the country's GDP, accounting for 14.4% of the total economy in 2023-2024, according to official data from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, CAPMAS, and Trade Map.

Agricultural exports reached $4.7 billion, while the sector employs approximately 5.74 million people, highlighting its vital role in the national economy.
