Egypt seeks to benefit from Malaysian expertise in palm oil production

Arab Finance: Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir held talks with a delegation of a major Malaysian firm on investment opportunities in the field of palm oil production in Egypt, the Egyptian ministry stated on February 18th.

Samir said that there is a distinct opportunity in the Egyptian palm oil production market to meet the local market’s demand and export abroad, especially to African countries.

He added that the Malaysian company can also benefit from the advantages of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for exporting Egyptian production to African markets.

The minister voiced the ministry's keenness to benefit from Malaysia's expertise and technology in palm oil production.

He stressed that the ministry is fully prepared to provide all means of support to the company to start its business in the Egyptian market

The Malaysian delegation revealed that the company is deeply interested in joining the Egyptian market which is one of the most important investment destinations in the Middle East and Africa (MENA).
