Arab Finance: Egypt has raised EGP 8.1 trillion via 607.3 million transactions conducted through its e-payment and collection system from May 2019 until November 2023, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait revealed in a statement on January 1^st.

The ministry has also issued 4.2 million MEZA cards for public workers’ benefits, Maait said.

The Egypt Customs Authority’s e-proceeds amounted to EGP 829.5 billion, the minister noted, adding that the value of tax e-payment and collection transactions recorded EGP 1.9 trillion.

Additionally, he said that the collection service through government electronic collection machines “GPOS” reached EGP 154.6 billion.
