Arab Finance: Egypt’s exports to the US fell 9.1% year on year (YoY) in 2022 to $2.3 billion, compared to $2.5 billion, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced on May 21st.
The North African country’s exports to the US accounted for 4.5% of total exports, data showed.
Egyptian exports of ready-made garments to the US made up the lion’s share with 57.9% of total exports, reaching $1.3 billion in 2022, which marks a 10.5% annual increase from $1.2 billion in the prior year.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s imports from the US went up 5.9% YoY in 2022 to $6.8 billion from $6.4 billion, representing 7.2% of the country’s total imports.
