Egypt’s agriculture exports hit fresh record high in 7 months

Arab Finance: Egypt’s agricultural exports climbed by 17.88%, hitting record highs of 5.02 million tons, since the beginning of the year until July 26th, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayed Al-Qusair announced, citing a recent report issued by Central Administration of Plant Quarantine.

The report showed that citrus, potatoes, fresh onions, sweet potatoes, pomegranates, garlic, strawberries, beans, and guavas are the main Egyptian agricultural exports.

Citrus topped the list of agricultural exports with 1.903 million tons during the period from January 1st to July 26th, followed by fresh potato exports with 896,447 tons, while onions ranked third with 351,899 tons of exports.

Grapes were the fourth in the list with total exports of 134,525 tons, while exports of beans reached 92,325 tons, followed by sweet potatoes in the sixth spot with 58,354 tons.

Meanwhile, Egypt's exports of tomatoes ranked seventh with a total of 49,469 tons, followed by garlic in eighth place with a total of 23,985 tons of exports, then strawberries with a total amount of 23,295 tons.
