Egypt, Cyprus join forces to combat monopolistic practices

Arab Finance: Head of Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) Mahmoud Momtaz and Chairman of the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition Eva Pantzari signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of enforcement of competition protection law and combating monopolistic practices, ECA stated on September 7^th.

The MoU came as part of ECA’s efforts to enhance its presence at the regional and international levels.

The move is also expected to increase the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Cyprus, which witnessed a climb of 23.2% between 2021 and 2022.
