ArabFinance: Russia announced that it will resume participation in an initiative that allows Ukraine to resume grain exports from the Black Sea, CNBC reported on November 2nd.
Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, said that his country received written guarantees from Ukraine that ports designated for agricultural exports would not be used in military operations against Russia.
Russia had previously withdrawn from the deal fostered by the UN and Turkey in July, accusing Kyiv of attacking the Russian Black Sea fleet in Crimea.
The deal allows Ukraine to send vessels to guide its ships through mined waters with a localized truce.
The agreement was expected to positively impact many countries as Ukraine is among the world’s top wheat exporters.
