EGX ends Thursday on mixed note

ArabFinance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices saw a varied performance at the end of Thursday’s session.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.23%, finishing the session at 9,933.05 points.

On the other hand, the EGX50 EWI index rose by 0.25%, to stand at 1,900.21 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 0.17%, reaching 2,192.33 points, while the EGX100 increased by 0.14%, ending the session at 3,127.17 points.

Trading volume amounted nearly to 398.79 million shares exchanged through 40,265 transactions at a turnover of EGP 821.175 million.

Market capitalization closed today’s trading session at EGP 687.401 billion.

Retail investors controlled 79.88% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 20.11% of trading.

Egyptian traders made up 85.64% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 7.36% and 7%, respectively.

Foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 72.682 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 71.801 million and EGP 880,769, respectively.
