EGX indices flag in red on Wednesday

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session in the red zone, with the EGX30 index down 1.29% to 54,224.93 points.

The Shariah index declined by 0.78% to 6,598.53 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 0.71% to 6,705.02 points.

Likewise, both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 1.16% at 20,222.74 points and by 1.14% at 26,686.9 points, respectively.

A total of 2.106 billion shares were exchanged at EGP 9.212 billion over 216,671 transactions, with the market cap hitting EGP 4.296 trillion.

Individuals controlled 76.48% of trading transactions, while institutions represented 23.51%.

Egyptians took over 88.84% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 7.78% and 3.38%, respectively.

Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 484.188 million and EGP 71.602 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 555.791 million.
