Arab Finance: Remittances from Egyptians working abroad surged 65.9% year on year (YoY) to around $2.6 billion in June 2024, versus around $1.5 billion in June 2023, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
This marks the fourth consecutive monthly growth in remittances following the EGP floatation in March.
In the April-June period, remittances by Egyptians working abroad increased by 61.4% YoY to around $7.5 billion from $4.6 billion.
