Arab Finance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to halt business in all operating banks across the state on Wednesday, January 7th, on the occasion of Coptic Christmas.
Likewise, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) announced the day a paid holiday for its employees and suspended trading business.
Both the CBE and EGX highlighted that work at banks and trading activities will resume on Thursday, January 8th.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly declared January 7th as an official holiday for the public sector.
