EGX closes Monday in red zone

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a negative performance on Monday, with the EGX30 index down 0.34% to 55,164.84 points.

The Shariah index retreated by 0.78% to 6,566.47 points, while the EGX35-LV fell by 0.96% to 6,783.47 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index finished the session lower by 1.15% at 21,372.45 points and by 0.93% at 27,651.35 points, respectively.

The EGX’s turnover reached EGP 12.713 billion through the exchange of 3.146 billion shares over 282,662 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 4.275 trillion.

Individuals controlled 81.18% of trading transactions, while institutions accounted for 18.81%.

Egyptians represented 91.39% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors made up 5.97% and 2.64%, respectively.

Egyptian traders were buyers with EGP 307.546 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 26.601 million and EGP 280.944 million, respectively.
