SCZONE to grant Scatec license to refuel ships at East Port Said

Arab Finance: The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to issue a ship refueling license for Scatec ASA at an investment cost of $1.1 billion, according to a statement.

As per the MoU, Scatec will obtain a license to supply ships at East Port Said with green methanol.

The total production of green methanol needed for ship refueling activities is set to reach 100,000 tons per year by 2027.

Moreover, the power analyzer’s capacity is 190 megawatts (MWs), depending on 317 MWs of wind energy and 140 MWs of solar energy.
