Arab Finance: The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has signed a letter of intent with the Canadian firm Aton Resources to bolster the country’s gold mining sector, as per a statement.
This was during a meeting attended by senior ministry officials, including Moataz Atef, undersecretary of the ministry’s technical office and the ministry’s spokesperson, alongside Aton Resources executives.
Discussions centered on Aton's exploration activities in the Abu Marawat concession in Egypt’s Eastern Desert.
The company recently announced two commercial discoveries, Hamama West and Rodruin, and outlined plans to establish a gold processing plant to support ongoing mining efforts.
