Egypt inks MoU with France to localize railway transport industry

Arab Finance: Egypt and France have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the roadmap between the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the French Ministry of Economics and Finance to localize the railway transport industry in Egypt, as per a statement.

The MoU also tackles the localization of the locomotive industry and the implementation of Metro Line 6 project.

It was signed by the Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir and the French Minister of Economics and Finance Bruno Le Mair.

Al-Wazir highlighted that the Egyptian government would cooperate with its French counterpart and the French Development Agency (AFD) to carry out several transport projects, such as Abu Qir Metro Line, Raml Tram, and Metro Line 1 extension.
