Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices posted collective gains on Thursday, with market capitalization of EGP 1.769 trillion.
The EGX30 index gained 3.34%, ending the session at 26,113.71 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 2.23% to close the session at 5,796.88 points, while the EGX100 EWI grew by 2.52% at 8,321.93 points.
Today’s trading saw 593.543 million shares exchanged over 92,003 transactions, garnering a turnover of about EGP 2.620 billion.
Retail investors controlled 70.77% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors seized 29.22% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 88.68% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 4.19% and 7.13%, respectively.
Foreign investors were net purchasers with EGP 87.781 million. Egyptian and Arab were net sellers with EGP 33.689 million and EGP 54.091 million, respectively.
