Egypt has recorded a primary surplus of EGP 164.3 billion, equivalent to 1.63% of the gross domestic product (GDP), as per the initial indicators of the financial performance for fiscal year (FY) 2022/23 issued by the Egyptian Finance Ministry.
Public revenues saw a 15.5% annual increase, while investments funded by treasury totaled EGP 230.3 billion.
Treasury revenues from Suez Canal amounted to EGP 124 billion.
