The Evolution of Egypt’s Public Revenues

In the fiscal year (FY) 2023/24, Egypt's public revenues continue to show remarkable growth, reflecting a steady upward trajectory in both tax and non-tax revenues.

According to data from the Ministry of Finance, tax revenues have increased from EGP 834 billion in the fiscal year 2020/21 to EGP 1.53 trillion in the current fiscal year.

Similarly, non-tax revenues have experienced substantial growth, climbing from EGP 280 billion in 2020/21 to EGP 610 billion in FY 2023/24.

Looking ahead, the projections for the fiscal year 2024/25 suggest a continuation of this growth trajectory, with tax revenues expected to reach EGP 2.02 trillion and non-tax revenues remaining steady at EGP 610 billion.

Egypt’s non-tax revenues rose by 122.9% year on year (YoY) over the nine months to March 31st.
