Arab Finance: Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait confirmed that the government is committed to improving the wages of state workers and pensioners in 2024, in line with measures aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens and alleviating the economic burdens on them, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance.
He added that the government has already raised the total income of state workers and pensioners through two wage improvement packages in 2023.
Earlier this year, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to raise the minimum wage of the sixth category public sector employees at the state’s administrative apparatus and economic bodies to EGP 4,000 monthly, instead of EGP 3,500.
