Egypt's wheat reserves sufficient for 5.9 months: Supply Minister

Arab Finance: Egypt's strategic wheat reserves are sufficient for up to 5.9 months, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk told Asharq Business.

Speaking at a press conference at the Cairo Chambers of Commerce, Farouk also detailed reserves for other essential goods, including cooking oils that are sufficient for 6.4 months and subsidized sugar reserves which are sufficient for 16.3 months.

The minister also added that reserves of fresh meat and frozen poultry are sufficient for 7.8 months and 10.4 months, respectively.
