Arab Finance: Chairman of Banque Misr Mohamed El-Etreby confirmed the upcoming leadership changes at Egypt's largest two public banks.
In a call with Amr Adeeb's El Hikaya program on MBC Masr, El-Etreby announced that Hisham Okasha, the current Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), will assume the role of Banque Misr’s CEO , with a new deputy expected to be appointed.
El-Etreby himself is set to take over as CEO of NBE.
He added that the official announcement of these changes is expected soon.
These changes follow the Central Bank of Egypt's (CBE) regulation, which limits the tenure of a bank CEO to three consecutive terms with a maximum of nine years.
