ExxonMobil Egypt partners with Elsewedy University of Technology to advance polytechnic education

Arab Finance: ExxonMobil Egypt has announced a strategic partnership with Elsewedy University of Technology (SUT) - Polytechnic of Egypt to implement the polytechnic education model in Egypt, as part of its ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between academia and labor market needs, as per an emailed press release.

As part of the agreement, ExxonMobil Egypt will sponsor the Industrial Engineering Laboratory at Elsewedy University of Technology, located on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road.

The lab will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to provide students with practical learning opportunities, aligning academic theory with real-world industry demands.

Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Egypt Amr Abu Eita emphasized its role in fostering the skills of young engineers and bridging the professional gap in Egypt's local market.

He also highlighted the company's dedication to education and community development in Egypt.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Elsewedy University Ahmed Elsewedy noted that the collaboration marks a significant step in realizing the university's goal of providing students with hands-on experience and contributing to the development of Egypt's industrial sector.

The polytechnic model at Elsewedy University combines 60% practical training with 40% theoretical education, involving partnerships with over 15 industry leaders and international collaborators to strengthen the skillsets of Egypt's workforce.
