Arab Finance: The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a cooperation protocol with the General Authority for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) to facilitate import and export operations, streamline inspection processes, and integrate these functions with the SCZONE-Trade digital platform, as per a statement.
This collaboration seeks to reduce inspection time and costs for products entering or exiting the country via the economic zone while ensuring compliance with health, environmental, and technical standards.
Head of SCZone Waleid Gamal El-Dein emphasized SCZONE’s commitment to creating a competitive investment climate through service digitization and leveraging its strategic geographic location, infrastructure, and advanced port facilities.
The integration of SCZONE-Trade with GOEIC’s systems is expected to provide faster inspection results and immediate product inquiries for investors, enhancing production and export efficiency.
Gamal El-Din highlighted that the initiative is part of broader digitization efforts, including the launch of platforms like e-Tabadul and partnerships with the Egyptian Customs Authority (ECA) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
