Egypt completes core catcher installation at El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant’s 4 units

Arab Finance: The core catcher at the fourth nuclear unit of El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has been successfully installed, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced.

This step marks the completion of installing core catchers across all of El-Dabaa plant’s four units.

The announcement was made during the celebration of the fourth annual Nuclear Energy Day, organized by the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA).

Madbouly highlighted that the ongoing global energy crisis underscores the importance of Egypt's strategy to diversify its energy sources.

Director General of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM) Alexey Likhachev announced before that NPP is set to be completed by 30% by the end of 2024.
