Egypt released $4.8B worth of goods in 4 days

Arab Finance: The Egyptian government has released goods worth $4.8 billion at ports during the period from January 14th to 17th, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said in a press conference on January 19th.

Madbouly also noted that $5.3 billion worth of goods are still at the Egyptian ports, including $3 billion worth of goods that their importers have not submitted the required documents for releasing them.

Moreover, the Prime Minister revealed that the preliminary volume of Egypt’s exports in 2022 rose by almost 20% to $53.8 billion, compared to $45 billion in 2021.

The country’s non-oil imports remained stable at around $80 billion, he added.

It is worth noting that various goods have been released from ports in Egypt at a total value of $1.5 billion during the period from January 1st to 10th.
