Trump declares victory in US presidential elections

Arab Finance: Republican candidate Donald Trump has declared victory in the 2024 US presidential election against his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, citing early results.

Trump announced his pre-emptive victory in a speech to supporters at West Palm Beach.

If final results confirmed his victory, Trump would return to the White House for a four-year term.

This news has pushed the US dollar to its highest level in a year, leading to a significant increase in treasury yields amid expectations that Trump’s policies would maintain elevated US interest rates.
