Egypt launches "Your Home in Egypt" initiative for citizens abroad

Arab Finance: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has launched a new initiative titled "Your Home in Egypt," as per a statement.

The program aims to offer Egyptians living abroad access to housing units tailored to their needs, while bolstering the country’s foreign currency reserves through payments made in foreign currencies.

It addresses housing demands raised during the Egyptians Abroad Conference held last August, where expatriates highlighted challenges faced with previous housing initiatives.

A dedicated website, being developed in partnership with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Housing and Utilities, and Communications and Information Technology, will facilitate the booking process.

Users will be able to select units and secure reservations, with allocation determined by the order of booking.

The platform will remain open for one month following the announcement of the program’s launch.

Eligibility for the initiative requires applicants to hold Egyptian citizenship and maintain a bank account in their country of residence for at least six months.

Each individual will be permitted to book up to two housing units.
