Arab Finance: The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) held the first meeting of the "Carbon Emissions Reduction" working group at its headquarters, chaired by Deputy CEO Dalia El-Hawary, as per a statement.
The meeting brought together sector heads from the authority, experts from the Federation of Industries, and representatives from the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) to discuss global legislation on emissions reduction and its impact on Egypt’s industrial sector.
El-Hawary emphasized the importance of the working group in supporting the authority’s efforts to attract sustainable investments and ensure compliance with international environmental standards.
The discussion covered sustainability-related regulations, particularly the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and strategies to align the Egyptian industrial sector with global emissions reduction measures.
