According to 2023 data from the World Bank, China leads the world in urban population with 910.9 million people living in urban areas, followed by India with 519.5 million, and the US with 279 million.

Brazil ranks fourth with 190 million, and Indonesia fifth with 162.6 million.

Egypt holds the 18th spot, with an urban population of 48.6 million.
