Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to discuss ways to enhance economic relations between the two countries, as per a statement.
El-Khatib emphasized the strong strategic ties between Egypt and the UAE, built on a long history of cooperation. He highlighted the importance of increasing trade exchange to reflect the depth of bilateral relations.
He noted that trade between the two countries reached $5.5 billion last year, with key traded goods including agricultural commodities, iron and steel, cables, machinery, and equipment.
He pointed to the ongoing momentum between both governments to strengthen economic cooperation, aiming for industrial, investment, and trade integration.
This includes securing supply chains, achieving self-sufficiency, localizing industries, and integrating value chains to create jobs, meet local market demands, and expand exports.
Al Zeyoudi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Egypt at all levels.
