As we celebrate World Intellectual Property Day, it’s essential to recognize Egypt’s significant strides in the realm of intellectual property rights. The data from the International Property Rights Index for the year 2023 sheds light on Egypt’s global standing in various facets of intellectual property protection.

In terms of the Perception of Intellectual Property Protection, Egypt achieved a commendable score of 4.449, positioning it at the 100th rank globally and the 11th rank regionally.

Regarding Patent Protection, Egypt secured a score of 4.750, placing it at the 79th rank globally and maintaining its 11th position regionally. This demonstrates the country's commitment to fostering innovation and protecting inventors' rights.

In Copyright Protection, Egypt attained a score of 1.971, earning the 54th rank globally and the 8th rank regionally.

Remarkably, Egypt excelled in Trademark Protection, achieving a high score of 6.274, which positioned it at the 33rd rank globally and an impressive 2nd rank regionally. This underscores Egypt’s robust framework for safeguarding trademarks, fostering brand protection, and promoting fair competition.

Egypt has been working to strengthen its intellectual property (IP) protection over the recent years, recognizing the impact that IP rights can have on a country's economic development and ability to attract foreign investment.
