Suez Canal revenues could drop to $5B end-2024 if red sea disruptions persist: Rabie

Arab Finance: The Suez Canal revenues are likely to decline to $5 billion in 2024 if disruptions at the Red Sea persisted until the end of the year, compared to revenues of $10.25 billion in 2023, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie told Asharq Business.

On a separate note, Rabie revealed that the SCA’s subsidiary Al Rabat will be listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) within a month, to be followed by two other firms later on.

On March 4th, Rabie announced that Egypt is considering the full duplication of the Suez Canal in the near future to address congestion issues and bolster the canal's efficiency.
