Arab Finance: Shell's production volume of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Egypt has reached 300,000 tons in 2023, falling by 40% from 500,000 in 2022, as per Shell's annual report for 2023.

Shell’s interests span over multiple exploration concessions in the Red Sea, the larger East Mediterranean, and the Nile Delta.

It is worth noting that Shell owns a 25% interest in the Burullus Gas Company, which operates the West Delta Deep Marine concession. It also holds 50% and 30% shares in the Rashid Petroleum Company (Rashpetco) and El Burg Offshore Company (EBOC), respectively.

In February, Shell Egypt sealed a framework agreement with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) to manage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) from the operations of all EGAS affiliates.

The company announced last November the completion of the drilling of the first well in its three-well exploration campaign, Mina West, which is situated in the North East El-Amriya block of the Mediterranean Sea.
