Egypt’s annual core inflation rate records 33.7% in March: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate recorded 33.7% in March 2024, compared to 35.1% in February, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced in a press release on April 8th.

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) inflation recorded 1.4% last March, compared to 2.5% in the same month of 2023 and 13.2% in February 2024, the CBE highlighted.

The data also showed that the annual headline inflation rate registered 33.3% in March, compared to the recorded annual rate of 35.7% in February.

On April 8th, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that Egypt's annual headline inflation narrowed to 33.1% in March, compared to 36% in February.
