Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices posted collective gains on Monday, with a market capitalization of EGP 1.764 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index gained 5.57%, ending the session at 26,011.28 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) added 2.59% to close the session at 5,862.39 points, while the EGX100 EWI grew by 3.43% at 8,376.11 points.
Today’s trading saw 648.903 million shares exchanged over 87.572 transactions, garnering a turnover of about EGP 2.759 billion.
Retail investors controlled 69.36% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors seized 30.63% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 86.44% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 6.7% and 6.86%, respectively.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 111.025 million. Arab and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with EGP 107.067 million and EGP 3.958 million, respectively.
