Egypt, Belarus pen MoU to boost investment cooperation

Arab Finance: The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Agency of Investment and Privatization in Belarus to enhance bilateral investments, as per a statement on April 30th.

The MoU aims to exchange expertise to enhance the business environment, thus pushing towards achieving the goals of sustainable development in both countries, GAFI’s CEO Hossam Heiba said.

Heiba added that the areas of cooperation outlined in the MoU include promoting the exchange of information between the two parties regarding investment opportunities, laws, regulations, and policies related to the investment environment in Egypt and Belarus.

These information will be made available to the business community in both countries to facilitate investment and enhance joint projects.

Additionally, it aims to encourage the exchange of business delegations and visits to learn about the best practices and experiences of each party in promoting investment, as well as jointly organizing conferences and seminars targeting investors in both countries.

On April 29th, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly welcomed his Belarussian counterpart Roman Golovchenko and his accompanying high-level delegation, marking the first visit by a Belarusian Prime Minister to Egypt.
