Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices have closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red territory, with the market capitalization at EGP 1.647 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index shed 6.01%, wrapping up the session at 24,448.73 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 equal-weight index (EWI) inched down 4.92% to end the session at 5,573.72 points, while the EGX100 EWI lost 5.22% at 7,938.73 points.
Today’s trading saw 655.213 million shares exchanged over 103,360 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 3.508 billion.
Retail investors controlled 61.33% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors seized 38.66% of trading.
Egyptian traders made up 81.46% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 3.81% and 14.73%, respectively.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 275.909 million. Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 76.316 million and EGP 199.593 million, respectively.
