Egypt, Jordan mull possibility of establishing joint opera

Arab Finance: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Ahmed Issa and his Jordanian counterpart Makram Al-Qaisi have mulled over the establishment of a joint Egyptian-Jordanian opera, as per a statement.

During their meeting in Cairo, the two side agreed upon studying this proposed project aimed at blending ancient Egyptian and Nabataean civilizations, to be filmed in archaeological sites across both nations and staged periodically.

Discussions also encompassed collaborative efforts in training, archaeological endeavors, and combating illicit trafficking in cultural property.

They also agreed to strengthen cooperation, harnessing the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of Egypt and Jordan for mutual benefit.

Both ministers explored avenues for collaboration, including joint regional tourism products tracing the Holy Family's itinerary across Egypt and Jordan, and the development of integrated health and cultural tourism programs.
