Pensions disbursed via Egypt Post surge by 22.6% YoY in FY2022/23: CAPMAS

Arab Finance: The disbursed pensions via Egypt Post’s branches have witnessed a 22.6% climb in FY2022/2023, reaching a total of EGP 140.5 billion, compared to EGP 114.6 billion worth of pensions disbursed in FY2021/2022, as per data from CAPMAS.

The savings accounts saw a notable uptick of 9.2% in deposited cash, which amounted to EGP 130.7 billion from the previous FY’s EGP 119.7 billion.

The surge extends to current accounts as well, with deposited amounts totaling EGP 164.5 billion, marking a substantial 15.2% increase from the EGP 142.7 billion recorded in FY2021/2022.

However, the sold stamps and forms in postal units declined by 7.7% from EGP 396.3 million in FY 2021/2022 to EGP 366 million in FY 2022/2023.

On a positive note, the number of postal offices expanded to 4,412 in FY 2022/2023, showing a 3% increase from 4,285 a FY earlier.

Additionally, the adoption of electronic payment services witnessed a significant surge, with the number of service units nationwide jumping by 52.3% to 8,824 from the 5,794 units in FY 2021/2022.
