EGX closes Thursday on mixed note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices have closed Thursday’s trading on a mixed note.

Market capitalization closed the session at nearly EGP 1.909 trillion.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.72%, closing the session at 28,364.79 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) shed 0.2% to end at 6222.96 points, while the EGX100 inched down 0.07%, wrapping up the session at 9,057.92 points.

The sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, lost 0.52%, concluding the session at 2,768.98 points.

Today’s trading saw million 1.298 billion shares exchanged over 96,345 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 3.251 billion.

Respecting, investor’s trading activity, retail investors seized 74.66% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 25.33% of trading.

Egyptian traders constituted 89.79% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 5.06% and 5.15%, respectively.

Egyptian traders were net purchasers with EGP 182.288 million. Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 53.593 million and EGP 128.695 million, respectively.
