Egypt plans to issue EGP 2 coins within FY2024/25

Arab Finance: The Egyptian government is targeting to issue EGP 2 coins within the fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025 to facilitate coin circulation, sources in the know told Asharq Business.

All the coin minting and issuance procedures have been finalized, pending the final approval of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the sources noted.

In July 2022, the CBE issued the first polymer EGP 10 banknotes, printed in the new cash printing house in the New Administrative Capital.
