Arab Finance: Malaysia-based automaker Proton Egypt will start the local production of its Saga model in early 2025, with a production target of 25,000 units from the beginning of manufacturing until the end of 2027, the firm’s General Manager Bassem Ashmawy told Asharq Business.

The company is planning to invest EGP 2 billion during the first phase which extends until end-2027, Ashmawy noted

The Saga model will be manufactured at the Ezz Elsewedy Automotive Factories with a local component percentage of 45%, he added.
