Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a varied performance at Tuesday’s close.
Market capitalization concluded the session at EGP 2.182 trillion.
The benchmark EGX30 index lost 0.06%, closing the session at 30,427.35 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) gained 2.34% to end at 7,861.84 points, while the EGX100 inched up 1.80%, wrapping up the session at 11,048.26 points.
The Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, added 0.04%, concluding the session at 3,189.05 points.
Today’s trading saw 1.120 million shares exchanged over 142,497 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 5.023 billion.
Respecting investors’ trading activity, retail investors seized 78.58% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 21.41% of trading.
Egyptian traders constituted 89.92% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 5.09% and 5%, respectively.
Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 62.598 million and EGP 49.193 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 111.791 million.
