EGX closes Thursday mixed

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a varied performance at Thursday’s close.

Market capitalization concluded the session at EGP 2.281 trillion.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.09%, closing the session at 31,462.21 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 (EWI) added 0.97% to end at 8,407.39 points, while the EGX100 edged up 0.74%, wrapping up the session at 10,131.37 points.

The sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, lost 0.04%, concluding the session at 3,231.64 points.

Today’s trading saw 1.096 million shares exchanged over 100,333 transactions, with a turnover of EGP 3.497 billion.

Respecting investor’s trading activity, retail investors seized 78.6% of total trading transactions, while institutional investors made up 21.39% of trading.

Egyptian traders constituted 89.69% of total trading transactions, while Arab and foreign investors accounted for 6.06% and 4.25%, respectively.

Arab and non-Arab foreign traders were net purchasers with EGP 11.081 million and EGP 97.076 million, respectively. Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 108.157 million.
