ITIDA signs MoU to back Egypt’s exports of electronics design services

Arab Finance: The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US-based software firm Synopsys and Egyptian internet provider Si-Vision to boost the Egyptian exports of electronics design services, according to a statement.

The MoU also aims to promote the country’s exports of semi-conductors and compact electronic systems design services.

Under the deal, Si-Vision will create 500 job opportunities for the youth within the coming three years as part of its expansion plans with Synopsys, ITIDA’s CEO Ahmed Al-Zaher noted.

It also covers the transfer of Synopsys’ technical expertise, via its Egyptian strategic partner Si-Vision, to the youth, in addition to conducting academic activities in compliance with the latest electronics design software.

As per the MoU, ITIDA will provide logistics support to both firms to benefit from the incentives provided by the government to the electronics design sector, along with allowing them to access the country’s advanced tech-labs.
