Arab Finance: The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) has launched the Misr Sat-2 satellite, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation.
The satellite was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China onboard the Long March-2C carrier rocket.
In June, Misr Sat-2 was tested at the headquarters of the EgSA, in cooperation with the Chinese side.
This comes as part of previously signed agreements signed between Egypt and China, under which the North African state received grants worth $92 million from China to carry out Misr Sat-2 project and build a center for satellites assembly, integration, and testing.
Misr Sat-2 is one of the remote sensing satellites that will help achieve sustainable development through the use of technology in several areas, such as enhancing agricultural production, improving city planning, developing infrastructure to improve urban life, in addition to monitoring and evaluating climate changes.
