Egypt seeks to boost Israeli natural gas imports 26% in H1 2025

Arab Finance: Egypt is looking forward to increasing natural gas imports from Israel by 26% to 1.450 billion cubic feet per day within the first half (H1) of 2025, compared to the current daily imports of 1.15 billion cubic feet, a government official told Asharq Business.

The Israeli natural gas imports to Egypt will increase after the US-based Chevron scales up the daily production at Israel’s Tamar natural gas field by around 60% to 1.6 billion cubic feet within H1 2025, the official said.

It was reported earlier that natural gas imports from Israel to Egypt surpassed the pre-Gaza war levels after rising 15% month on month (MoM) in January, hitting about 1.15 billion cubic feet per day.

In 2023, the Israeli natural gas supplies to Egypt and Jordan went up by 25% year on year (YoY), despite being shortly disrupted over the Hamas-Israel war.
