Arab Finance: The Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) has decided to initiate a criminal case against seven major poultry brokers for violating the provisions of Article (A/6) of the Competition Protection Law No.3 of 2003, as per a statement.
The decision came after brokers of white chickens agreed on determining the selling price of fresh chicken per kilo of those being sold from poultry farms to wholesale traders. This negatively impacts poultry trading prices.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian government decided to reduce egg and poultry prices by 10% to 15%, starting April 2nd.
