Arab Finance: bp has taken part in a joint development agreement (JDA) with Masdar, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Infinity Power to explore the potential creation of a multi-phase green hydrogen (gH2) project in Egypt, as per an emailed press release.

As part of the agreement, BP will take the lead as developer and operator on behalf of the consortium.

The collaboration aims to combine their gH2 initiatives in Egypt, potentially consolidating them into a single large-scale, multi-phase project focused on the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives, with an emphasis on export opportunities.

The consortium has additionally signed a framework agreement (FWA) with the Egyptian government to initiate comprehensive studies and activities.
