Arab Finance: Great Wall Motors is set to introduce a car model tailored for the Egyptian market, creating around 4,000 jobs, as per a statement.
On the sidelines of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with the Chairman of Great Wall Motors Jack Wei to discuss ways of boosting joint investments.
The meeting was also attended by in the Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Waleid Gamal El-Dien.
Gamal El-Dien said that the company has requested 1 million square meters for the factory which will be developed in two phases; each with a production capacity of 60,000 cars.
The Prime Minister welcomed the proposal and highlighted Egypt's commitment to developing its automotive industry.
Madbouly also emphasized the government's readiness to provide incentives, including land and a golden license, to support the establishment of a manufacturing facility.
